Hi! Welcome! I’m Jessica. I’m a registered dietitian/nutritionist who is here to help you navigate what has become the over-complicated nutrition information space. Whether it be for you or your child, Friendly Nutrition will be your guide on finding a healthy lifestyle that works for your life, your family, what you need, and what you value.
When it comes to the kiddos, I specialize in working with picky eaters and sensory feeders. I have several years of experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, sensory processing disorders, oral feeding issues, tube feedings, and more. I will help you broaden the foods that your child will eat, create and work through a plan to wean your child from his/her tube feeding, monitor your child’s feeding progress, come up with meal plans and strategies to introduce new foods to your picky eater, or help you understand your little one’s nutrition needs.
I also work with adults on weight concerns, health and nutrition issues, getting out of the chronic dieting cycle, making peace with food, and bringing joy back to eating. I’m a former dieter – I’ve counted calories. I’ve measured portion sizes. I’ve only allowed myself a certain number of carbohydrate grams. I’ve read “The Abs Diet,” “Skinny Bitch,” “Naturally Thin.” I’ve tried Whole 30, skipping meals, low carb, low fat. I’ve felt like a failure with them all. I don’t want to say “I get it” because everyone’s journey is different but I will say, “I hear you.” It’s tough out there and I’m here to be your support and guide as you navigate away from the negativity that the diet industry has been inflicting on you.
My work with adults and children focuses on incorporating the Intuitive Eating principles and the Body Kindness framework. I believe in approaching humans from a health at every size perspective because all bodies deserve respect and health.
